On December 29, 2005, The Harp and Shamrock, the Bob Reeder Fan Club presented to Dr Cynthia Jacobsen, Director of the Hearing and Speech Clinic of Children’s Mercy Hospital the Club’s total fund raising amount for 2005 for the clinic’s Hearing Aid Fund---$5,400.

The $5,400 is the most the club has ever raised from the proceeds of their booths at Irish Festivals and the annual Celtic Music Benefit. The monies will be used by the hospital to buy hearing aids for children who cannot afford them. Hearing aids are not covered by most insurance. The Club provides approximately 1/3 annually of all the hearing aids at the clinic.
